GET YOUR LEGS IN NEW BOOK

Work hard on your legs, or have great leg genes? Here's your chance to show them off in a new professionally printed tabletop photo book titled, "GREAT MALE LEGS." Even guys with beer bellies often have great legs, so don't think you don't. What have you got to lose? Show us what you got.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PICTURES

1. Set up a camera with good lighting, or go outside, and take pictures of just your legs from any angle. The closer the better. Could be calves, thighs, all of your legs and feet taken from your view sitting down or standing up. Get creative. Cross them, spread them, squat, etc. Barefoot or with footwear. Show off your leg tattoos. Have someone take pictures of you wrestling, or working at a leg machine. Nude accepted, but hide that part please.

2. Email as many original, out-of-camera, unretouched photos to us as you like. The minimum pixel size required is 1600 x 1200, but the bigger the better. Focus is important!

3. In one of your emails include your first name, state, city and country. Your first name and state may appear next to your legs in the book. For instance, (Mark, Seattle, WA). If you would like to include a link to your personal website in the back under Contributors, please include that as well. Also, include this permission statement within your email:

"I, (full name), allow the photos that I am submitting of my legs to be included within the book tentatively titled "GREAT MALE LEGS" without compensation other than appearance in the book with others if selected. I allow the book to be sold and distributed in any way. I am 18 years of age or older, and the photos that I am submitting are of me; or if taken by me, I have full copyright ownership of them. I will indemnify and hold harmless Rook Communications for any claims arising from use of these photos in the book."

4. That's it! You will be notified by email if your photos are used. Deadline for submitting photos is September 30, 2010.

TIPS ON TAKING GOOD PHOTOS
CAMERA RESOLUTIONS
A printed book requires good images, so webcams and cellphone images will not do. Most of your standard digital cameras have four quality settings.

.JPG Economy or Low
.JPG Normal
.JPG High of Fine
.TIF Raw Uncompressed

You want to take photos in the last two modes, .TIF is better if available. It will be a big file size, but best quality.

You also have sizes. Take the picture in the LARGEST size your camera can take. Minimum size is 1600 x 1200 pixels.

FILL THE IMAGE WITH JUST YOUR LEGS
Also important when you take pictures of your legs is to FILL the image with your legs. We want to see the hairs in detail. Taking photos of your entire body 10 feet away is not going to give a good picture cause the image will have to be cropped for your legs. Cropped means less quality.

FLASH INDOORS or GOOD LIGHTING or OUTDOORS
A good image requires good lighting. You can either find good lighting, or use a flash. If you use a flash, you will probably want to set the camera up about 6-7 feet away and ZOOM into the area where your legs will be. That way the flash won't be so strong to flare up and overexpose the image.

TIMER
I know it's not easy to take pictures of your own legs, unless you are doing some cool shots of your legs outstretched in front of you or down. But most cameras also have 2-10 second timers so you can set up the camera and get into view.

IDEAS
Cool shots can be you wrapping your legs around a ball, on a bike, or a shot with the camera on the floor facing up and you standing over it (in speedos or whatever). Be creative. Take a lot of pictures and you're bound to come up with some winners.
