Having Problems Playing Videos on WrestleMen?
I am here to help you. Print this page out.

If you have a high-speed DSL or cable modem connection, and are using a PC with Windows 98 or above, you should be able to stream and watch videos on WrestleMen via Windows Media Player. If they still are not playing properly, it could be from two problems:

#1. You do not have Windows Media player 10.0 or above installed properly.

(and/or)

#2. Another media player has claimed ownership of .asx file extensions which link to the streaming media (.wmv) video files.

Here is how you can tell if you have Problem #1 or #2

Click on the sample video link below. If the Windows Media Player program starts up (a blue player window; or if on AOL, the AOL media player loads), then you do NOT have problem #2. Therefore, you should just download and reinstall Windows Media Player 10.0 for your operating system. Click here to do that. Afterward, reboot your PC and try again on the link below.

Problem #2:

If no player program loads even though you know you have Windows Media Player on your PC, or you get an error message in your browser window, then you will need to do a little work to fix it. But don't worry. Just follow the steps below. Print out the page so you can do them.

1. Check to see if .asx file types are pointing to the Windows Media Player. To do this, double-click on My Computer on your desktop. Under the 'Tools' menu option up top, select Folder options. Click on the 'File Types' tab, and scroll down until you see ASX on the left side under Extensions. Once you find it, click on it. Look to see if it says Windows Media next to it (something like Windows Media Audio/Video playlist), and if below the scroll area it says "Opens with: Windows Media Player." Refer to the picture to the right. If it does, Cancel out of the window, and just reinstall Windows Media Player for your operating system. If it says it "Opens with:" another program player, make note of the player name, and then click on the Change button to the right of it. Chose Windows Media Player, and then OK, and OK to exit menu. Retry the link above to test the video player.

If it STILL does not load Windows Media Player, you will need to remove the player program that has decided it will play .asx files. Trust me, it is probably some cheap-ass program forced on your PC by an inadvertent download. ONLY Windows Media Player should play .ASX files. So if you never heard of the program, like VLC player, or whatever, remove it. To do that:

Cancel out of the File Type menu. Click on your computer Start button, and look for Settings. Click on that, then Control Panel. On Control Panel, click on Add/Remove Programs. Once it loads all programs on your PC, scroll down and look for the name of the media player you made note of above that is NOT Windows Media Player. Once you find it, click on it and uninstall it. Click on Remove or whatever.

After the program is uninstalled, close Control Panel, and reinstall Windows Media Player 10.0 for your operating system. Then test the link above again. I bet it will work for you! If not, email me at wrestlervic@aol.com and I will talk you through it.

Now go watch some videos mister!
